These chakapa inspired shakers are made from locally harvested bamboo here in Connecticut. They are hand made and completely sustainable. Each shaker will have a slight variation in size, shape and color but they average around 22" in total length. The bamboo sheath handles are approximatley 10" and covered on each end in soft cotton rope. The bundled leaves are dried and resilient but some loss of leaves is normal. Color change in sheath is a common occurence as the bamboo continues to dry.
Traditionally used in healing ceremonies these shakers are a great addition to any sound bath practitioners assortment of instruments. They produce a gentle sound beneficial to clearing energy from a stagnant room.
The shakers are a great alternative to traditonal percussion, adding an organic and natural element to any sound immersion experience, drum circle and even studio recording for atmospheric music.
